I keep breaking bed temp sensors and I cant figure out why.

I have two MK3 printers that sit side by side. One of them works perfectly all the time and just happens to be a year older than my newer one. But the newer one keeps breaking the bed temp sensor wire. I've replaced the (blank)!!! thing like 6 times and I'm still baffled as to why it keeps breaking and the other one is perfectly fine.

It doesn't hit the wall and it's not getting stuck on anything. The break keeps happening about an inch or so off the back of the heat-bed. I tried changing to a cable chain and its till broke. I tried a shielded wrap and it broke. Its been all factory parts the last 2 times and it still broke.

I'm really ticked off and out of ideals. What am I missing here?

My bad this time I jumped the gun and it wasn't the bed thermister but the hotend thermistor. I can't find it on Prusa. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement quickly in the US? Thanks.

@danielrmegard

I think not the Thermistor is defective, it's the wire. Replace it with a heat-resistant silicone cable. It is best to solder and strip with a shrinking hose.

Silicon cables like this one (22AWG): silicone 22awg

Try this to prevent movement:

But unfortunately, I can't offer more help than that.

Is your printer grinding? Bearings squeaking? Motors smoking?
Step 1) Wash your Steel Sheet
Step 2) Return to Step 1

Daniel,

To view spare parts in the Prusa shop you must log in using your Prusa account then the spare parts menu option will appear.  However, as requested, here are a couple of places to get the part in the U.S.

This one is modified to have the long wire and connector like the original Prusa unit.

https://www.printedsolid.com/collections/prusa/products/prusa-mk2-mk3-thermistor-cartridge

This one through Amazon would require you to solder the wires to extend them but otherwise is the same unit.

Regards,

Steve
