RE: how to get petg off smooth sheet

I usually use a release agent (Layerneer) for PETg on the Prusa smooth build plate but I've occasionally done without.

If you let it cool to room temperature and flex it gently, it may release OK without a release agent.

If it looks like it is sticking, don't force it but place it in a refrigerator for a couple of hours.  I've heard of people using the freezer as well.

That's great!

I would suggest that in the future you use something like Layerneer as a release agent for PETg (and ABS/ASA) prints.

One of my stumbles up the learning curve on the Prusa printer, very early, was ruining one side of the new (ish at the time) plate that came with the printer by doing a large-footprint ABS print without a release agent.  (I had learned to print on glass plates, the PEI plates were new to me at the time.)  I got impatient when the print would not cleanly release, so I used a kitchen implement and it pulled up a few pieces of the PEI coating with the print.  (You can see the boo-boos to the rear-left of the print in the photo below, the plate was still good for smaller prints, fortunately.)

I then learned after the fact that if I would have put the plate/print into the refrigerator/freezer it most likely would have released cleanly.

Try @joantabb's trick - drop a small puddle of IPA around the model, flex and wait, flex and wait.

Cheerio,
