The mmu can be tamed it’s just a pain in the a$$.  I was about the point you were about a month ago.  Got it working somewhat reliably.  I still hate the waste though.  I wish prusa offered a multi extruder printer because I love their stuff.  The mmu makes using tpu a bit of a pain.  

I know it's pain in the butt. I spent weeks trying to get it work, I bought MK3S so I can print new parts for MMU2S printer. And then spent other weeks trying to get it work. I gave up. At that point, I was thinking of design a moveable chimney, but decided not to waste my time on it. 

Back on subject: Glad that you decided to buy a new MK3S+ since it made sense for you.
