RE: How do you keep a silicone sock from falling of?

For a while I was using a dab of high-temperature RTV on the front and back sides of the "pro" sock. This stuck the sock on just well enough that it stayed in place, but not so bad that it was difficult to remove. I found it easier than "tie a wire around it" method, which is what I was doing previously.

However, after an incident of PETG getting extruded inside of the the pro sock and making a mess, I just decided to do away with the pro socks and go with the non-pro version. The natural nonstick nature of the Nozzle X that I'm using keeps the nozzle itself clean, and the non-pro sock keeps the rest of the heater block clean of mishaps. I don't think I'll ever go back to the pro socks again.

I use a steel 2mm wire (an old spike from a bicycle wheel), which presses the shorter sides of sock to the heater block. The wire is bend to a "C" shape clip and grips the sock pretty tightly and don't fall off. When I change the nozzle, the wire is easy to take off. Though I do take off the cooling fan and fan shroud whenever I am taking the sock off due to the nozzle exchange.

I was worried, whether the magnetic material would interfere with the bed magnets and /or PINDA. No problems observed so far.
