Heap / Pile of extruded filament, x y crashes
Hey guys,
after printing two months properly, from one day to another the printer suddenly printed this heap of filament(picture), instead of my object.
I tried recalibrating and realised that every time the printer would try to Autohome, it will go to the righthand side of the heatbed.
I also tried to go in settings into move axis and move the extruder to the lefthand side but it wasn't possible. It said I was completely on the left hand side?!
In my fail stats there are now several xy crashes.
What I can I do?

Based on this pic, it appears your printer may need more fiber in its diet.
Is your printer grinding? Bearings squeaking? Motors smoking?

Make sure it has a hardened nozzle first if it's carbon-based though...

I feel like this should be in the Hall of Fame print section.....
If it was my printer, and it had been working great up until that.....and it wasn't showing obvious mechanical issues like binding, grinding, screaming, or smoke....I would rerun the initialization. Let it self-test the components and run thru calibration. It probably won't fix it straight out, but it should help narrow down what is and isn't working.
Looking very closely at the print, it looks like it may have blobbed on the extruder....the worked itself off. Is your PINDA still in place and aligned?

Looks like simple loss of adhesion ... the part breaks off the bed and you get Art.
Take the sheet to teh sink, wash with soap and water - scrub and dry with fresh paper towels. Keep hands and fingers away from the print surface.

Thank you guys!
I did the several maintenance jobs (cleaning rods, nozzle etc.) and readjusted z-value. And I washed the sheet 😉
Pinda is and was in place. True that the "Shai-Hulud" was stuck around the nozzle, like it was eating it! But above the rest of the extruder was clean.
So I redid all the calibrations and the problem seems fixed for now...

Glad to here everything worked out! One extra thing you may want to look into is a silicone sock - I like these, tho they can slip down in the rear:

I'm still on my first, and after 25hrs printing, it still looks new.
Be sure to wash the sheet before and after shopping! 🙂
