Health, Safety, RoHS

Hi there,

Long time watcher, first time writer.

Putting together a prusa kit while eating gummibears - thanks again for those - I was wondering about health and safety standards. Do any accessible parts contain lead/solder? Are there any other chemicals, the exposure to which could be bad especially for kids? Is it safe to eat next to the printer, or could in a very unlucky case lead or other harmful materials be transferred to the hands and subsequently to the mouth?

Asking these questions because I am thinking about giving more kids access to printing and this amazing way to build and be creative, but need to be 100% sure that I know what is and isn't safe.

Yep. California. Better safe than dealing with a 100M lawsuit or even harming a child.

It may be a case where you can't prove no harm, so are at risk. California-level assurances will likely be expensive. Some filament won't ship to California.
