Glossy PC PEI vs Textured PC PEI

Does anyone have any info on the difference other than what the website says?

The glossy seems to have a surface that is easy to mark with tools based on the description, but does it have the same release properties as the textured? If so, everything should pop right off without tools.

Also wondering if it has the same adhesion performance. (which might be related to the first question)

Is it only less durable to marking or does is it also more susceptible to damage like how PETG/ABS can rip chunks of glass or PEI stickers off of print beds. Textured version seems to be marketed towards these kinds of materials.

What is everyone thinking of getting?

It really comes down to what you're planning on printing. I print a lot of face down cases where the first layer means everything. Some people like to have a glossy / mirror finish on their prints and others like textured. Also, a textured surface will help with first layer adhesion because of the larger surface area.

I'd expect both textured and smooth powder coat to be relatively immune to any tearing or ripping problems that some users report using the PEI sticker. That said, I haven't had (so far - 60 day) any issues with the sticker other than having to do proper preparation and be patient on cool-down (esp. with NGEN, XT). Performance-wise, my understanding is that PEI is PEI, so the smooth PC bed will be like (healthy) sticker PEI. The difference between smooth and textured is mostly finish, but I've read that the texture may improve "grip", so I wonder if it's a good idea for sticky filaments like PETG, NGEN, XT.

So far, the sticker PEI is working, but I am anxiously awaiting the day when we can order replacements of some sort. I want a textured PC bed, but any sorts of spares are nice when you want to start another print without a lengthy cool-down. I mostly want the finish option.

Now that you say that... I guess since I have a sticker PEI the textured would be the best choice. If I could only have one probably the glossy but both options will be nice.
