Re: Firmware 3.7.0-FINAL for Original Prusa i3 MK3S & MK3

Maybe I'm just half asleep the whole day, but I noticed that one I print a file it actually prints another...

Is this just me?

I've seen this occasionally, but realized that it would print the adjacent filename in the current sorting order, in fact the next one in the order that I was scrolling through the list. I found that I was clicking to print without waiting to see if there was any display lag that was keeping me from seeing that the next file was actually selected. It was particularly bad if I want to print the bottom file in the display as the scrolling of the filenames was much slower than my press to print reaction time.

It happens to me all the time that I click on something and it selects the one on top or below the one I clicked.

Are you accidentally twisting the knob as you push down? That'd definitely cause it if the turn registers before the push.

I been using the N7 user created version. So most of my gcode has N7 in it. Question to use Z-Probe settings option should I delete N7 from the code or will they work together ?

In 3.7 you can remove the N7 from your gcode. Go into the settings on the printer's control panel and you can select 3x3 or 7x7 and how many probe iterations to average together (I have it set to the max of 5). The probing is faster than the earlier hacked firmware that needed the N7. This also means that if you do a recalibration from the printer's interface you should also get the 3x3 or 7x7 that you selected in the printer settings.

That said, you can leave the N7 in your gcode. If the N# argument is in your gcode it should override the printer settings.

Hi guys, I have a problem with my MK3S. Anyone notice random gcodes trying to auto home opposite direction? My machine is MK3S and firmware is 3.7.0. This exact same gcode working fine with MK2S. I did export this gcode with Prusa Slicer edition.

are you running gcode meant for a 2S on a 3S? That may cause problems; I'd try reslicing it for a 3S as a first step.

Hello, the temperature display is funny ... ❓

Sorry for my bad english ..

After Update the Firmware to 3.7.0 i see under Support -> Temperature -> the Ambient is 47°C and the PINDA is 22°C ????
That looks like a twist for me about Ambient and PINDA ?

Here is a Pictue during the print:

No worries. I understood your message fine.

Have you had your printer on for a while? I think the sensor for that ambient reading is either on the Einsy board or in the power supply. Self heating of the electronics around the sensor will give you a false high reading for the ambient temperature. (I often see "ambient" temperature values in the 30s and 40s when my room temperature was between 17°C and 20°C.

Re: Firmware 3.7.0-FINAL for Original Prusa i3 MK3S & MK3

I installed 3.7.0 firmware and am having a hard time....

I have MK3S, MMU2S, Slic3r PE

My prime tower will screw up when cancelling a print job.
During a print, the MMU will jam (of course) and I have to cancel the print.
On the first run, the prime tower prints like it should. After cancelling the print and starting over, the printer does not even attempt to do the first layer correctly. The head will move to location, print 1 line then basically go over that SAME line over and over until it completes that section of gcode.

This drove me nuts. I re-sliced, moving the prime tower and the same thing happened. What the hell. Eventually I power cycled the printer (think I was frustrated and went to bed for the night) and printed the same gcode again and the prime tower printed perfectly.

Again, hours into the print, the MMU jams, have to cancel the print, clean up the mess. Hit print again and dammit, the prime tower is screwed up again. Power cycle, reprint, and it is fine. It is not a layer issue. The hotend literally does not move in the X direction causing the print to print over itself. What is weird is that the hotend moves into position.

Ok ignoring the primetower, again out of frustration, I let the damn thing print.... The objects printed 98% ok but there are/were some angles (for example, spokes on a wheel) that were missing or the outter parameter wall would print 3mm away from where it was supposed to. Rebooting fixes it until the next Cancel.

I cannot explain this.
I factory reset, same thing.

I'm going back to 3.6.0.

P.S. the mesh bed leveling going 10000000KM/hr please slow it back down I think it is having an impact on my 1st layer prints.

I really needed these ramming fixes too! dammit.

Re: Firmware 3.7.0-FINAL for Original Prusa i3 MK3S & MK3

I updated to this firmware last week and have issues with a bug:
When a print is finished the bed stays hot, also when a print starts the bed warms up before levelling, after levelling it needs time to heat the nozzle.
Any thing I can do to make sure the bed doesn't stay hot after the print?

Enforced z levelling an issue with 7x7 mesh levelling for me also. Particularly with the centre back, so possibly a magnet issue? (Didn't switch on magnet compensation). Switching back to 3x3 was fine. It did work a few times on 7x7 but then repeatedly failed on same point, an issue I've only encountered on 3x3 if there was a scrap of filament under the steel sheet.

It sounds like your start and end Gcodes are screwed up. Do you have M140 S0 in your END gcode?
Does the printer behave differently if you power cycle it first then print?

The calibration points on the 7X7 should not be shifted left, but it looks like it.

I use 3 x 3 and it is shifted left in this release, too.

I think it is because they have corrected for the PINDA offset from the nozzle to better measure the corner of the bed. Remember that it is that part which does the measuring, not the nozzle.

Re: Firmware 3.7.0-FINAL for Original Prusa i3 MK3S & MK3

Hi Prusa Team,

I don't know if it is the right place to put a suggestion for a future firmware.

For those that want to pause and resume their prints for a longer period it would be (really) nice to have the possiblity to:

1) Pause the print
2) Turn off the printer
3) Wait a period of time (1 hour, 1 day etc.)
4) Turn on the printer
5) Resume the print

After some testing I noticed the following points:
- While printing, took out the power cable -> print position is stored and after replugging in the print can be resumed.
- But: When the print is paused before and the printer is unplugged and replugged, the print cannot be resumed. So if a power outage occurs while being in pause, the print fails and cannot be restored.

So, in my opinion it would be good to have the possiblity to resume a print rather it would be because someone wants to turn off the printer voluntarily or because of a power outage (unvoluntarily).

Best regards and continue the good work 🙂
David

👍👍 Just loaded 3.7 and it works great. The user version was good but this is a great step up, fast and the best 1st layer Ever. Thank you Prusa, @stahlfabrik, @mionut and @3d-gussner.

PS - not sure what going on with the 2 points where it pops up. Guessing it related to the magnetic compensation.

One of my Mk3S's does all 49 points with the fast detect, but the other one always has the same two points which pop up and get re-measured. Must be magnet related.
