@phd

If the printer works perfectly, I would not change anything for now. So first test print and then intervene if necessary. I've also heard that the belttension function differs from the previous FW versions. I'm "still" working with the 3.8.1, which anyway (except M601) runs stably.

I'd say the printer works fine, but not yet perfectly - I still have some tweaking to do. My belt tension numbers are not that far from the given range, so it's unlikely to be the cause of the printing defects I'm seeing, but I'd like to do the best I can.

@phd

Which misprints are you talking about? You could compare the belt tension of both belts with a manual compression test and tighten the loose belt a bit if necessary.

I have to agree with karl-herbert on this one. Mostly because I find the numbers semi-useless. My y belt in particular went from 290 to 270, and was far too tight at 270, while the X-axis numbers do seem to tell me something more useful/interesting. The numbers are rough guesses based on readings from the motors, but aren’t a good substitute for checking the belt tension yourself.

Our Original Prusa MK3, just updated to firmware 3.90 (specifically::  prusa3d_fw_MK3S_3_9_0_3421.hex) now thinks its a MK3S and warns me that the printer type has changed. That firmware was downloaded from the firmware changelog download page after selecting the MK3 printer type. Should we be concerned?

Download the Mk3 firmware and flash it.

Thanks for showing me where to find the appropriate version for the MK3 (not S).

The location you provided is not where I originally found the firmware download (which was the Firmware Changelog page)...hopefully other users are not also confused by that.

@vintagepc

My printer was running fine, and realy enjoy it. but with the latest firmware upgrade ... it makes me crazy.

I face the same issue, After updating the firmware to the latest version. my printer has a ? at the z-axes ... this is removed when i home the printer. But it will not calibrate any more "calibration failed! check the axes and run again".

I check a whole lot but but the Z-axes will not calibate any more... can you helpme out.

thanks

@henrickus-t

Sometimes it can help if you perform a factory reset and reflash the FW. Give it a try.
