Faulty PINDA?

So I think I've come to the deciding factor that my PINDA is faulty. After assembling it gave me a hard time when mesh bed leveling. It would force a z calibration but I was able to get a few prints out eventually. After getting a real nice benchy last night I attempted a second print and it wouldn't get past the first point for mesh. I quit and came back this morning...After starting over from the wizard I see no status light on the PINDA, I placed a piece of metal right under it, nothing..I opened it up and checked the connections, everything was fine. Thoughts? It was a battle to get mesh to work, I read there had been some problems with it between 3.6 and 3.7 and I tried both firmwares, I'm really hoping for a fauly PINDA.. Unfortunately I can't trouble shoot for a few days as I'm about to head out of town...

RE: Faulty PINDA?

Raise the extruder a few inches off the bed, and the PINDA LED should be on.  Move a screwdriver tip toward it, the LED should turn off.

If it doesn't behave this way, something is broken.
