Fan Speed control: confused.

There are 2 ways to control fan control speeds that I am aware of.

First is in the slicer software. I have used that and have a good understanding of how that works.

Second is on the control panel. In the tuning area there is a fan control slider and virtual button. I assume that, while you are printing, you can slide that to some value up to 100% and then push the button and that command will over ride the slicer code. is that correct? And just sliding the slider does nothing, you have to hit the virtual button as well? If the slider was sitting at 30% from a previous print and then I put in a slicer gcode that asks for 60%.... will it give me 60%.

Also I am currently printing. My slicer was set for 60%. When I go to tuning it says something like 153 (I may not have that number right) but what does that number mean. The fan can only go to 100% so what is this meanin?

On the printer control panel the fan speed goes from 0 to 255 where 255 = 100%.
60% x 255 = 153 I hope this helps.
