Extrusion problem
Hello,
I'm experiencing a strange problem. Since the day before yesterday, my MK3S hardly extrudes any filament. The strange thing is that when I run a first-layer calibration, it works fine. Just now I ran this calibration twice in a row, and the result was good. But as soon as I try to print my own file, exported from PrusaSlicer, sometimes the extruder makes a strange clicking sound and the Bondtech gears don't seem to turn, they just move slightly in small jerks, or the Bondtech gears don't turn at all.
In the meantime, I’ve already tried all sorts of things:
- Dried the filament
- Replaced the nozzle
- Replaced the PTFE tube
- Run the first-layer calibration many times : Works
- Checked if the extruder motor is working via Settings → Axis → Extruder motor : Works
- Loading filament : Works
- Unloading filament : Works
- Reflashed the firmware
- Resliced the model
I'm using:
- PrusaSlicer 2.9.2
- MK3S – Firmware 3.14.1-8237
Picture of the first-layer-calibration which look quite goodto me.
Picture of my file, shows that there is hardly any filament extruded.
RE: Extrusion problem
Your first layer doesn't look that good to me. Did you measure the thickness of it? It looks a little high yet, the filament doesn't look like it has been squished enough. It should be about 0.45mm thick. End square should be pretty solid and not break easily.
If the first layer is high, then the filament doesn't stick and gets dragged around as your second picture looks like.
