extruder doesn't extrude but only immediately after a print succeeds

*Edit* Sorry I posted this accidentally too early! *

This is a strange one, I'll try to describe as best as I can and hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. If you need more information please let me know 🙂

Setup:

i3 Mk3s
generic PLA, any temperature
any model
doing full 9x9 calibration pre-print

Symptoms:
- I print any model just fine, the printer works extremely well and reliably *ON the first print*
- If I go to print a second model immediately after the first (i.e. before the nozzle and bed cool down completely), the extruder seems to not work properly. the short wipe section right before the print is bubbly and not complete, and the first layer isn't really put down as there is underextrusion.
- This happens Every time

What I do about it:
I always cancel it at this point and then manually move the extruder axis a few mm, then just start the print again and it works perfectly.

I'm confused and not sure where to go from here. Any pointers would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Kevin

Absolutely. I have uploaded a video here (the pre-print wipe occurs at 51 seconds):

Also, I have uploaded two pictures here. One of the very minimal extrusion, and one of the filament after I select 'unload filament'.

As an update: It appears that I actually have to unload the filament and then load it again to get it to extrude properly, unless I let the hotend cool down between prints, that is. If I try to manually run the extruder either through the LCD screen or through octoprint, it doesn't extrude at all.

Hello, thank you for the response.

Strange, I'll try again with the pictures.

I'll try with printing just from the SD card. Just out of curiosity, what do you suspect that will change or rule-out?

When your printing of of a i2c pin and transfer wireless gcode can be missing but also the pi may mess with the electronics
