Extended printing in Enclosure causing repeated crash alarms

Hello everyone,

Have an MK3+ that I have put into an enclosure. During the first print everything works great. After the second print however I start to come into issues.

Once my first print is completed, typically a print lasting between 2 and 3 hours. The enclosure temp is nearing 37c - 39c. I'll clear the part from the sheet, typically remove the sheet for it to cool first before cleaning it with ISO alcohol.

When I start the second print however, a minute or two into the print I'll have a crash alarm anywhere one the print, location has varied each time. Crash will repeat before stalling and prompting me to continue yes or no.

I've played with heights to see if the nozzle was impacting the work, no issues there. Then checked the belt status in the HMI and last measurement as I recall was 247 and 252.

Is there a limited amount of heat or continuous use the Stepper motors can operate under before having issues? Peaked in the manual and done some searches, have yet to find anything specific to this.

As I side note, If I let everything cool off I have no issues. Another point I will make, if I do a repeat of the same part, i do not have the issue. If I change which part I am printing suddenly this happens.

Any thoughts on this will be most welcome.

Heat is not good for electronics. Steppers should be fine in those temperatures. Be aware that the E3D V6 hotend is an air-cooled design rated to about 40C ambient temperatures. As temperatures rise, the efficiency of the air-cooled system is reduced. The most common symptom is jamming and extruder skipping. 

The easiest test is to print with the doors open. If it doesn't jam, you know it's a temperature issue. This is particularly important for PLA which can soften prematurely and cause problems. Do you notice any extruder clicking or skips when this happens?

What material are you printing at 39 degrees C?
If you can keep the enclosure temperature stable at about 30- max. 35 degrees C., this is sufficient to print e.g. ASA, PC or Nylon. To stabilize the temperature, you may need to install fans. It's primarily important to keep the ambient temperature in the enclosure stable and avoid drafts.
The higher the temperature, the worse for the electronics ( life span reducing). Longer operations under higher temperatures can also cause malfunction of the electronic components and stepper motors.

Thanks for the responces.

Just to clarify. I'm not printing anything at 39c, that was the high ambient temp of the cabinet while printing.

Have been printing ASA. limited success.

This all makes sense. While printing PETG I leave the door open and have good success on repeated prints. However I do run into issues when changing the print model after some consecutive prints. 

Starting to wish the printer would have some early warning system that ambient, Motor, Controller, temps are getting to high. Prusa next big feature on the mk4????

doesn't the Mk3 have a thermistor in the Einsy?  checking Ambient temperature, maybe you could monitor that
