error code "bed done" MK3s

Running pteg at 230/85 temp. Z is at -1.6 first layer goes down great but after that things get ugly. I get globs, sometimes the extruder  'jumps' almost an inch to the right for no (reason I can determine) and keeps on printing. Today the print stopped an an error code came up 'bed done'.............what does that mean? I'm fortunate to have a few local people with printers but their all scratching their head too.

RE: error code "bed done" MK3s

I'm not sure "bed done" is an error, I believe it just means the bed has reached set temperature.

As for the globs that sounds like you have a gap between the heat break and the nozzle, is the plastic coming down off the top heat block?

Have you checked your belt tension and the freedom of the x-axis?  It sounds like the print head might be sticking and your belt is loose enough for it to jump.  Since I'm trying to interpret your language so I may be off base here, a video of the issue is going to give us much more to work with.

Cheers

RE: error code "bed done" MK3s

I have been running this same print for almost 3 years and have never had a problem until 3-4 months ago. Never had a "bed done" code (this code displayed in the middle of the print).  As for the belts all is good. As for the blobs I disassembled the entire heat sink/heat block/hot end and nozzle. I have considered that the blobs cause the nozzle to catch and then jump but why are there blobs there to begin with and why doesn't the print crash instead of continuing with the print.

Pay particular attention to the diagrams at the bottom of this page:

https://help.prusa3d.com/en/article/changing-or-replacing-the-nozzle-mk2-5s-mk3s-mk3s_2069

- and check you have genuine E3D nozzles; some of the cheap 'clones' are a fraction too short in the thread.

Cheerio,
