Ditched MMU2S and reversed back to MK3 and noticed the different between MK3S

After few months of struggling with MMU2S and I gave up and took MMU2S off from my original MK3.

I already have MK3S which I purchased recently and I noticed one or two things that are different from MK3S.

On my MK3 (now upgraded to MK3S with plastic parts, but the board are MK3), I noticed that it has no autoload feature. Is it only available on MK3S with different board? If I buy a new board and will it work?

Other thing I also noticed, when it's loading filament, it made some banging noises - why? Is there any way to fix it?

Re autoload, think this is just the firmware - have you updated your firmware to the mk3s version instead of the MK3?

The board is still the same. You have to update the firmware to MK3S and make sure you did also the full MK3s upgrade (not only the plastic parts) like described in this guide: https://manual.prusa3d.com/c/Original_Prusa_i3_MK3_to_MK3S_upgrade.

and if you took the MMU off you need to put the ball bearing filament sensor assy back in the extruder instead of the modified door and chimney

Thanks guys for replying... I'm surprised that the forum does not have multiple quotes in one reply, so I'll go hard way.

Quoted by kate-o: Re autoload, think this is just the firmware - have you updated your firmware to the mk3s version instead of the MK3?

I haven't tried that. I did updated my firmware along with MMU2S. Can't hurt trying it.

The link lead to "This category page does not exist." I think I did full upgraded when I ordered the MMU2 upgrade kit - that included new sensors, cable, magnets, ball, and those plastics. I just looked at upgrade from MK3 to MK3S guide and seems that I did them all.

Yes, done.

I'm going to film the loud banging (or knocking) noise when loading filament and hopefully someone can help me with that.

Just remove the dot at the end. This forum is still full of surprises:

also for autoload i think you have to have the filament sensor turned on.
