Different color parts.
Has anyone else received a MK3S kit with both black and orange parts? I ordered orange but half of them were black. I know some of the extruder bits need to be black so the filament sensor does not mess up, but I was thinking the rest should be orange (Y axis parts, etc).

RE: Different color parts.
some of the parts are black, regardless, e.g. einsy case, entire extruder.
IIRC the orange parts in my kit comprised the Z/Y/X motor mounts, z tops, X idler end, Y rod mounts, bed belt holder/pulley, and LCD assembly/knob. The rest was black.
RE: Different color parts.
Ok so I probably got a bag of black Y axis parts by accident. The pulley holder, Y rod mounts, Y tensioner, etc are all black. I built it anyways because I wanted to print and nothing was mechanically wrong 🙂 The Y axis parts are small so I may do those later in orange when I have some downtime. Plus I'll then have a matching orange spool to make a light strip mount and toolbox to tidy up my print area.
Thank you for checking to see what colors are consistent on your kit.

No problem. I had an earlier revision Mk3 so when the R4 parts came out I made some parts of my extruder orange. I'm currently assembling a skelestruder which will have many orange accent pieces.
RE: Different color parts.
In my MK3S kit only the display (cover, button and mounts,) the z-axis parts (motor mount, x-carriage mounts, and caps,) were orange. All y-axis parts were black, along with the Einsy case parts, extruder parts, heatbed connector cover, and PSU mounting.
RE: Different color parts.
I should add that I haven't printed the parts for my MK2S to MK3S upgrade kit yet, but looking at the manual and the Prusa-supplied GCODE for it it looks like you and I got the standard parts: only the display pieces and the pieces on the z-axis are orange.
RE: Different color parts.
Weird. I went back to look at the photos on the site and they do have the orange Y axis parts.
I was originally thinking about printing them myself in orange but now I am thinking I may switch it up and try a completely different color for fun. Look at this yellow beast:
