Choice of desk
So I've been planning on my purchase of a MK3S+ and doing my research to make sure that I'll be happy with my purchase. It's a lot of money to get it wrong, after all.
I don't have a lot of space to locate the printer so I've been looking at desks / stands and have found something that looks pretty decent from Ikea. Problem is that the depth of the desk is 50cm, and the assembled kit is documented at 54cm × 52cm (X×Y). So two questions:
- Will a desk that is 50cm deep be enough to support the feet properly?
- Can the printer be orientated so it's Y axis goes between the wall and the front of the desk (it's depth dimension)?

The feet are attached to the slots on the frame extrusions, so they can actually be slid forward and back and don't have a specific required position. The frame itself is 34 cm in the Y axis (front to back), so that's the farthest apart the feet can possibly be and all the actual desk surface you need.
The LCD control panel is entirely in front of the frame, and the extruder and heatbed cables extend up to 13 cm behind the rear of the frame. So, you do need that much clear space behind, but not a surface.

I use a lack table that is 55cm x 55 cm. You should be fine. You just have to be careful to pull it forward enough that that cable do no hit on the wall when the Y axis is as far back as possible.

Thanks for the pointer to the Lack table. Still trying to figure out if that will work in the space I have.
I don't suppose you could measure the "foot-to-foot" distance for each dimension? I presume they are actually set inside of the total footprint of the printer.

When @kpreid mentioned LCD panel, that reminded me that you can also relocate the LCD panel easily to a more convenient location and save space in the front. You may need to buy some extra length of ribbon cable though.

I confirmed your space is adequate. You might need that part pointed out about to protect the cables for the heat bed.
