Bed sheet prices have gone up...
Was browsing the store and noticed the prices for print bed sheets has gone up...
Smooth sheet used to be 29.99, now 34.99
PC sheet (though out of stock) was shown at 24.99, now 44.99 (eek!)
The latter could be explained by the new in-house process, but it's interesting the regular sheets went up too when there was no (mentioned) change of supply/materials there.

Just wow. That is one heck of a price jump.

Wow, I wish I'd have got an order in for the PC sheet. I figured I was in no rush to get one and would just wait until the manufacturing delays and drama were sorted out.
RE: Bed sheet prices have gone up...
Apparently they also were briefly on sale today and sold out in about 20 minutes. Rumour (legend?) has it that they plan to put up a batch every day...

The smooth sheets were a bargain, even with shipping. A $5 increase isn't as bad as it could have been.
I had a shot ad the PC sheet, but I'm not overwhelmed with the one I've got, so let it pass.

I've read very mixed reviews. The "flex steel" Fysetc I got was so thick it's hard to raise Live-Z high enough to use it, and it stays bowed when flexed.
If you want texture on PLA, textured vinyl on one of the thin PrintedSolid bare flex steel sheets works well.

Wups. Crappy sheet was from Sealand.

Same results here. Not all the beds are the same even from the same manufacturer.

You definitely do not want to let it cool completely before print removal.

Well, it was so thick I can't calibrate Live-Z without moving my PINDA up which will screw up my thinner PC sheets. Got one or 2 prints with it, but am avoiding it now. Maybe for some nasty experiment.

Why the price was increased?
The main reason is higher production costs than we expected when we originally announced prices. As we have written in several articles, the scrap ratio is so big that we had no other option than the price increase.
So the price will fall if production costs can be reduced. (I hope)

Or the original estimates were simply too low and this is more realistic pricing. Don't forget, Prusa took a beating getting a PC sheet out to those of us who ordered before April 2018 between the $10 discount off the original (low) price and free shipping. They are a for-profit company, so do have to make it up somewhere. It is interesting that most of the competitors who have come out in recent months are all at about the same pricing level. I suspect it just costs close fo $50 to put out a quality powder-coated textured sheet.

I wonder if the newer version with the white letters prints different than the original ones from 6 months ago.
I sold one and bought a few off a local guy then he sold me his 3-printers he could not get to work. He had the idea to start a print farm but could not get the Prusas to work.

I was helping a guy on Reddit who was having problems with PLA but not PETG. He couldn't get a 150x100x5cm print to stick. I was surprised to have the same issue, it would warp off badly. Tried the Dawn dish soap wash, isopropyl alcohol and acetone with no luck. I have no problems with small prints, but larger slabs seem to warp off easily, which is surprising with PLA.
I found buffing the top surface of the textured sheet with a 3M 7445 Scotch Brite pad worked and it adhered through the print. It wasn't as solid feeling as with the smooth PEI though. Some other guys also reported disappointment with the PC sheet and PLA, although they love it with PETG. I'm wondering if it needs to "season" a bit, with a bit of roughing up. Obviously, some folks are getting good results. Could it be that the new sheets have a coating or surface that's a bit more finicky?

Well that's a bummer. I've been contacted by a couple of guys doing similar things. One guy was cranking up to sell 3D wargaming scenery. He was quite happy when I explained larger nozzles and command-line batch slicing.

I am very happy with my assortment of powder coated sheets. Some work better than others. I will buy a new version of the Prusa sheet just to do a comparison, but between the king and other, I am happy with my results.
I am not happy will the Blurolls from AliExpress. Just not durable enough.

I don't mind the price increase but really want a release date for the availability of Double-sided Textured PEI Powder-coated Spring Steel Sheet.
RE: Bed sheet prices have gone up...
Ahhh. Just seen the "Powder coated sheets will be regularly stored in small daily batches." on the part page
Guess you have to be online at the right time.
RE: Bed sheet prices have gone up...
How do you find parts on the estore? I can't seem to find a page to order individual parts, like the bed sheets (either kind).
