bed covered in black shreddies
Hello! I just built my MK3, it has been great.
A quick question: I have only ever used the printer with white filament. But after running a print, my bed is covered in little black filament shreddies.
it is working well in other respects, calibration and self-test were flawless--just littering black plastic onto my bed and print. and it has me wondering if some key part is being ground up into powder.
are these coming off of the Prusa printed parts? is this related to the inconsistent extrusion / Bondtech stuff? anything I should change?

I'm going to take a guess (as there are no photos) that it could be from you belt rubbing.. check your belts and make sure they have the correct tension and alignment.

I'm going to take a guess (as there are no photos) that it could be from you belt rubbing.. check your belts and make sure they have the correct tension and alignment.

Check the orientation of your x motor pulley. Lots of people put it on incorrectly, it is the opposite of the y motor pulley.

Check you heatblock around the nozzle. Do you have any plastic stuck up around it? That looks like burnt plastic that has fallen off the extruder as it moves around your print. If you've had snarls or snags that result in plastic getting stuck to the heater block, that plastic will eventually burn and likely fall away. If you're unlucky, it can fall into your ongoing prints.

My belt was riding against the back of the carriage--that was exactly it. Thanks all for your help. I had the pulley on the right way around but not quite at the right position on the stepper shaft.
