Anybody have recommendations for a GOOD PETG?

I am looking for recommendations for a good PETG.  I have been using Microcenter black PETG, and it prints OK, but on one spool, it wasn't wound properly, and the filament kept catching on an improper winding.  However, I got a roll of white PETG, and I absolutely can't get a decent print from it.  I get bubbles, skips, stringing, and blobs, no matter what settings I use.  I even went down (in steps) to an extruder multiplier of .6, and still had problem.  No problems with their black PETG, just this white stuff.  I got a roll of their clear PETG, but I am going to return it.

Does anyone have a good recommendation for a good  white PETG?  I'm also looking for a clear PETG

For so-called 'transparent' PETg, the best I've used is RepRappers, but it seems to be unavailable now.

I'm currently using Overture, but it's a bit more opaque than the RepRapper stuff.

For PETg in general, I've had good luck with Hatchbox, Overture, Paramount, and, of course, Prusa(ment).

I'm currently using Hatchbox white PETg and it prints just fine.  I have a spool of Paramount ready to go when that runs out.

I missed the edit window on my last message but I checked and the RepRapper so-called transparent PETg that I like is apparently available again.

Paramount - distributed out of Chicago.  In PETG, I love there McLaren Orange and Fighter Jet Blue.

I just ordered one to try.  I have their PLA, but not PETG.

It's not totally transparent by any means, but it does pass a lot of light.  The windows in the theater below are made of it.

The best of the so-called transparent filaments that I've used and seen models of is (was) the Hatchbox ABS.  One of the ladies at the local makerspace did some jewelry pieces and some chandelier pendants with this and smoothed them with acetone and they came out quite impressive, although not glass-clear.  IIRC, these were done with solid 100% infill.  The windows in the buildings of the lower photo were done with the Hatchbox ABS and they came out passing a bit more light than the PETg but very similar.  The Hatchbox transparent ABS has been out of stock for about six months.

@jsw

I will print and post a photo of a nose cone made with it.  It might be ideal for night launched rockets with LEDs in the nose.

FWIW Doesn't "I get bubbles, skips, stringing, and blobs, no matter what settings I use" sounf like wet filament?

I have had good experience with SunLu PETG black and white colors. I run at 240/85 1st layer and 250/90 other layers.

It no longer ships to my CA address via Amazon but I can get it in Wyoming, don't know why.

Yes, that was the first thing I thought of too.  Or it could be some additive in the filament that causes it - I had a non well known PLA filament that would not print well no matter what, I think it was something in the colors they used - that but sure sounds like moisture from my experience.

A lot of people seem to have problems with PETG in general, but it is in my experience very sensitive to moisture/humidity so that is the first thing to check

Actually, the spool came sealed in plastic with a desiccant pack.  I tried drying it out in an oven.  No luck.  It originally didn't seem like wet filament because it was printing ok except for the blobs.  I even tried cutting back the extrusion multiplier.  At .6, I was still getting blobs.  I have had no problems with their black, just the white.  In fact, with their black, I use the generic PETG profile on Prusaslicer.  I think either it's an additive or a bad supplier.  The box says Inland, but there is no identification on the spool.

I have printed a LOT of black PETG, a little stringiness I expect, but this stuff was terrible.  On one of the Microcenter spools of black PETG , it was wound on incorrectly, so I kept getting jams when it unspooled.  Other than that, it printed fine.

Anyway, I returned the remainder of the spool to Microcenter and brought with me a sample of what I printed.  They were horrified as well, even their 3D printing expert was horrified.  They kept the printed sample.

I got a spool of Hatchbox white PETG on Amazon, and it printed fine.

I was really looking for a recommendation on a good PETG brand.

RE: Anybody have recommendations for a GOOD PETG?

To go back to the original question...

I just did the first few prints with Fillamentum CPE, which is whet they called "modified PETG" and so far I'm quite happy with it (after some teething issues). Printing on the higher end of the recommended temp (275). The clear one comes out quite transparent.

In regards to the translucent ones I had also rather good experience with Taulmann t-glase. I haven't got a large bore nozzle yet but that should actually give even more transparent results when used in combination with a thick layer height. That should result in a smaller number of optical interfaces and thus give less blurring.
