It means one or more of the levelling measurements differed from the stored value by an unacceptable amount. From time to time the value will drift as the nozzle wears. Sometimes a fragment of filament or stringing caught under the print sheet is enough to trigger a check. Scraps of a previous print left on the bed are also suspects ... and sometimes maintenance missed a loosening screw and something came loose.
Once every few months is normal. More often and it's time to go troubleshooting.
