Z-Axis vibrating noise left side
Hello,
I do have a strange vibrating noise when I am moving th z-Axis. This is coming from left side (where the Einsy board is attached) only.
The noise is there on all movement with a speed >10mm/sec (600 mm/min) and is also there during calibrating and Z-hop.

Anyone can help in this issue?
Otherwise, the print results are extremely good and the printer also passed all calibrations etc. immediately after building it.
And to answer the question before it comes up; yes, it also does the same noise without the WebCam mounted to the X motor.

Sounds like plastic vibrations. I had a z cover a tiny close to the z motor (that black plastic that you screw down the lead screw) and was making noise when moving like yours. Though the noise was different. Might worth check it out.

That was my intention as well.
Do you mean I need to "screw" it closer (more tight) towards the stepper motor?
Will give it a try later on - mothersday you know 😉

I had to lift it up so it was more far away from the stepper motor. You do not want them too close since they can block the movement. I would also check the LCD to see if the vibration is coming from there. Might need to screw it tighter (but stop when it no longer moves or you might damage the LCD).

I gave it a try and can confirm it is definetely the cover.
I loosend it a bit and it is much more quit now, but not completely gone.
I will start a next print to see how it will be during Z calibration.

I wanted to give some feedback as I solved my noise problem:
It looks like the LM8 linear bearings shipped originally by PRUSA are not really good.
I replaced them today by Igus bearings and the printer is quite on the Z-Axis.

I'm new to 3D printing and am in the process of building my Mk3. Realized after finishing the z-axis that I forgot to install the plastic covers on the Z--axis motors. Are they important for operation or just for aesthetics? I'l go without if not needed, but thought I'd ask first!

The covers keep dust and bits of plastic from damaging the motor's bearings.

I got the same problem.
The noise is less after updating to the latest firmware 3.2.1 and applying some machine oil.
I am not sure which one, firmware or oil did the job. Could be both.
