Yup first layer issues

I have passed everything in my MK3 kit setup.
first layer is almost always bay (2 good ones)
changes from print to print
can be bumpy thin etc , even on the same small square 1 layer high
I have flashed to the newest firmware
reset to factory
run the wizard a dozen tomes or so (always different - values)
I have a cheap black widow (used for the last couple years) that I manual level with a sheet of paper and can print with any material (got the MK3 because of all the awesome new features)
Help

Re: Yup first layer issues

If you have everything set up correctly and a clean build plate then check the bed level runout. I use this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1815945

Just set it above the bed and zero it, the manally run the Y axis bacwards and forwards (not by hand). You will see if there are any large changes to the level of the bed. Mine was within 0.04mm so nothing was changed. It is possible you overtightened one of the screws.

This is just one thing to check, there could the lots more.

Re: Yup first layer issues

I had this kind of fluctuation in the first layer between prints without touching the Z adjustment and after two long chat sessions with support eventually a flaky Pinda was the diagnoses it was not triggering the same height from print to print. a replacement was sent and the problem is gone. something of a pita to replace it but in the end it was well worth it.
