Y belt alignment issue

Hi Folks

I have an assembly problem. I got stuck at alignment of y belt.

I followed the instructions carefully but no matter how hard I try the belt is always moved to the left side of the pulley.

It's not bending but I think it might impact it's lifespan. The problem is I cannot move pulley further towards motor because then it blocks the movements of the shaft.

I guess I can possibly reverse the pulley but it would be non standard way ...

Any tips? Thanks

You are not the only one to question this. Read the comments on Step 32:

https://manual.prusa3d.com/Guide/2.+Y-axis+assembly/1046?lang=en

Note the response to carefully check the installation of the idler pulley.

Hi,

Did you solve this? I have exactly the same issue. I triple checked, everything is in the right position. But belt is on the left of both pulleys.

Actually I reversed the pulley already when assembling the printer.

I've been printing happily days and nights 😃

Thanks for your reply.
I noticed this while assembling, but kept following the exact instructions.
Now I'm experiencing Y crash detection when the axis is close to ends, and triple checked everything. I may give it a try. This could explain a slight extra resistance at the ends.

RE: Y belt alignment issue

I just flipped the direction of the pulley and it fixed all my issues!
