X-Axis Failure

We have an MK3S printer, factory built, that has been working well for months.  Suddenly when trying to print, the X-Axis carriage slams into the left vertical upright and then does not travel all the way toward the right.  When powered down the x-carriage can be moved freely by hand near the left position but then jams up toward the right.  I also tried an XYZ calibration that indicated an X-axis failure.  What could have happened and how can it be fixed?

RE: X-Axis Failure

Debris in bearing or possible bearing failure due to not lubricating bearing prior to assembly. Either way, you will need to tear down. Remove and clean the x-bearings. Relubricate and check them by moving just the bearings on the rod to verify smooth motion.

Also be careful of the bolts holding the bearings to the extruder. If too tight they can cause bearing problems. Just snug them.

Same goes for the U-Bolts of Death on the Y axis. Just snug them - or you crush the bearing.
