X-Axis error when properly tightening backplate screws?
Yesterday I upgraded my MK3 to the MK3S. While the build process went mostly fine I was not able getting through the calibration process. During the assembly test, the printer would do the x-axis test fail. The extruder would only move until reaching random but fixed positions, and sometimes on the way back also stopping way before reaching zero. Afterwards the printer would claim, that the there is an x axis length problem. But I could move the extruder all the way along the x axis just fine when using the settings menu. So i started dissasembling the extruder again. Turns out, that if I tighten the screws of the backplate in a manner that I would call tight, the problem appears. Now, that I have them just somewhat tight, so that they barely close the gap between the parts, it seems to work fine. Is that normal?

Yes that’s normal. If you do them too tight it causes the bearings to bind which causes false crashes, as the end stops are software based and work on stall currents. Too much friction and it causes all sorts of problems.
