You should be able to print the tower and actually gauge what the best value is. Simply changing settings is like playing roulette.

I printed the tower and did choose the apparent best level, but the unintended side effects, seam gone and different levels and locations of smoothness, made me decide to experiment.

Even those machines with pretty towers with almost no definite best choice, seemed to benefit from just having it on, minimum setting, 1.03, at least when testing with a layer height of .15 .

 

I am going to do a series of tests to see the effect of the layer height and try to see how the steeper/micro-stepping/etc. all interrelate in relationship to the banding and seams.

It would not surprise me if Prusa's original tower results and numbers are not consistent with the new features in the new firmware release..

Besides, one of my MK3S machines just went done with persistent jams and another MK3S+ is in pieces so ..

Can't help myself .. like a dog with a bone right now.
