what allen key to use at heater assembly ? suspect that rounded off by users
Hi all,
we have a prusa i3 Mk3 set up in our lab.
one of the users "semi" dissembled the nozzle assembly because of a problem (extruder nozzle is blocked i think)
i suspect they could not get the allen key screw loose (see pictures below) and then desided to include me to the whole thing.
my question is that i want to make sure i use the 100% allenkey size. I suspect the "rounded" off the allenkey screw hole.
it feels to me that i should use a nr2 allen key. as far as i could see in all the available documentation only metric screws are used.
can anyone help me out to tell me what allen key it should be ?
Cheers,
Jason

maybe my message was to long and to omplex for my simple question (sorry I am special 🙂 ).
my question: what allenkey size to use in (black)screw shown in picture(s).

I have not disassembled the Heat Break yet, but this might be helpful to you:

which leads to:

And yes, the screws are all metric. That guide above mentions a 1.5mm Hex Wrench.
Which one it is exactly of the wrenches supplied with the printer, I cannot say. I'd go for one that fits. 🙂
Hope it helps!

Yes, only metric Allen fasteners are used.
They REALLY need to invest in some silicone socks to look after the heater blocks!

2mm for the dome screw
1.5mm for the thermistor grub screw
