Upgrade MK3 to MK3S+ - Why print x-end idler and motor?
I am upgrading my MK3 to the new MMU2S which I also needed to upgrade to the new MK3S+.
I am starting with this manual and first printed all the necessary parts:
- https://help.prusa3d.com/en/category/original-prusa-i3-mk3-mk3s-to-mk3s-upgrade_1183
Looking forward to start BUT why did I also had to print the:
- x-end-idler.stl
- x-end-motor.stl
I did not see these parts back in the manual?
Hence my question. Should I replace them also or are there no real significant improvements compared to the stock MK3 x-ends?
Cheers,
Bartek

They are somewhat different - the way the belt tensioner works is different.

@dan-rogers
Thx Dan. I replaced them and found the small difference in the tensioner.
I was more puzzled that in the upgrade guide there is no mention of the E-Axis upgrade or reference to the assembly part of the MK3S+, but the kit had a bag with screw and the printed parts where there sitting on my table making me think first, what shall I do?
I love the new black color parts for a change 🙂
Thanks,
B.
