Unable to find home (can't reset origin)

Something happened where we can't get our prusa to reset it's origin to the bottom left corner.

I've tried disabling the stepper motors, moving it to the corner, and running every calibration I can find.

I've tried searching everywhere for a tutorial on how to reset the origin, but can't find one.

have you tried Auto Home, on the LCD Menu?

When the printer is turned on, the printer has no idea where the bed is, relative to the nozzle, so the printer assumes that the print head is already at Z=0mm and it will not allow you to lower the print head. however Home all Axis, uses the Pinda to sense for the build plate  allowing the printer to lower the extruder safely.

I have tried auto home.  It doesn't seem to do anything more than move it to where it thinks the origin already is.

Is the printer right at the very top of the Z travel?

If so,
Check your Pinda Functionality.

There should be a Red LED Light at the top of the Pinda, where the cable exits the Pinda Body.

does it flash off when metal is near the end of the Pinda?

when testing this, turn the LCD screen menu to Sensor status!
is the sensor status changing in time with the LED Status...

If this is not happening, then your Pinda is faulty...

The pinda is working correctly.

What other reasons might it not ever search for an origin by going left?

Have you checked the fuses? there are three on the einsy board...
its a mk3 series printer, the x motor should drive left until the extruder carriage collides with the end of the X axis...  this collision is a virtual end stop action...
when the power is off, can you move the extruder carriage  easily and smoothly? If not, you need to find the cause.

when trying to home all, is the X motor quivering at all!    quivering can be a sign of a faulty wire.

If this is the case, you could try swapping the X and Y motors to see if the problem stays with the motor or moves to the Y axis,
If the problem stays with the X Motor then the x motor may be faulty.
if the problem moves to the Y axis, the problem may be the X axis stepper driver

I've got a few videos here.  One of how auto-home moves to the right every time.  Another of doing first layer and the X going out of bounds.

We have found the solution.  Apparently the smooth rods needed to be lubricated.  It was binding in the last quarter inch of X travel, looking as though it was running straight into its limits.  The X travel distance was less than expected as a result, with the calibration failing.

By lubricating the rod, it is now able to travel the entire X distance, getting expected results.
