Troubleshooting my first print

I bought the printer, and expected it to print. I guess it isn't that simple. I've printed a dozen of these, and about half of them worked fairly well, and the rest look like this. Even the ones that worked had some flaws.

Does anyone know what's wrong here?

Thanks

Can you zip up and upload a copy of your project 3MF file? The problem is most likely related to those sharp overhangs and lack of support.  Have you tried orienting the part with the circular hole on the top/bottom? If we can see your settings and part from the project file, more ideas may be forthcoming.

I want to get this to print in this orientation. I thought about rotating it, but this is a test.

I don't have a 3MF file. I used STL. I've attached that.

I don't know how to send settings, or even where I'd find them. I need help with that. ezyzip

RE: Troubleshooting my first print

gk,

The .3mf file that bobstro referred to above is the save file from PrusaSlicer.  If you only exported g-code for your print and didn't save the project in PrusaSlicer you can just re-import the .STL, slice with your previous settings and save the project.  I believe that the forum will block upload of anything that is not a .zip file so you will need to rename (and tell us you did) the file before upload.  Also, for future reference folks on the forum can offer better advice if you include as much detail as possible in your requests for help (filament type, build sheet type, temps, etc.) in this case the .3mf file, build sheet (textured or smooth) and filament type should provide everything necessary.

Regards,

Steve

I did include the zip file in my previous post. It's kind of hidden at the end of the last sentence.

I am using only the default settings with the filament which came with the printer. I built it, and printed this. There's not much to add that I know of. If I recall I used the slicer on the STL file, saved the resulting file to the card for printing. If needed I'll run through everything again and take some notes to ensure what steps I take.

I've reuploaded the file here.

I'm able to print the part without problems. Here are the results using a 0.50mm nozzle with PLA. A bit over-extruded at the top, but otherwise OK result:

I've attached a 3MF project file with my settings using a 0.40mm that you can try.

Are you having any warping (inspect the underside) or part movement during printing?

Hey, thanks! I'll give it a try.

I'm not having any warping issues. On the inside top of the holes on the parts that did work I see a messy area where it bridged. What I don't understand is the inconsistent printing. Several look just like what you printed, and the rest were flawed. Can't wait to try this. Thanks again!
