Transposed Layers - Something's wacky
Hi - I'm hoping some very patient individual is feeling helpful!
I finished my kit yesterday, and I thought everything was calibrated and ready to go. Did the wizard, first layer calibration (though that may be off, I'm not certain I understand what I'm doing) and extrusion (visual) calibration. Printed up my boy the Octopus, and he came out as you see on the left - the red one was my previous printer, a Flashforge Finder.
My *guess* is that the y axis is having issues, because most of the transposition is forward and back from the extruder but everything seems smooth, square, and tight.
RE: Transposed Layers - Something's wacky
Back and forth translocation along an axis always makes me suspect a loose motor drive gear. Typically it is due to set screws not being square with motor drive shaft during tightening. That inevitably lets set screws work partially loose and drive gear slips back / forth in a limited angle range. The slippage creates translocations that waver back and forth.
