Top surface uneven
Hello everybody,
Received my i3 MK3 last week-end as a replacement for my old Anet A8. I'm really impressed so far, but some models shown rather uneven surfaces like:
The left part is out of PETG from Real Filament ( http://real-filament.com ) printed with the 240 °C/90 °C. The right part is PLA from Real Filament printed with the 215 °C/60 °C.
Both parts were sliced with Simplify3D and Josef's settings ( https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/general-discussion-announcements-and-releases-f61/simplify3d-settings-for-mk3-t12950.html ) with the 'Optimal 0.15mm' settings and 20% infill.
Any hints want to problem could be here?
Re: Top surface uneven
Did not have good results with the prusa s3d profile or the one directly from s3d. The best for me are the ones from Jeff Golden. Here are a bunch that have been collected byCG http://www.BreathFlute.com/zip/S3D_Pi3Mk3_CoreProfiles_CG.zip

Re: Top surface uneven
I had that problem when I was tuning in filament from a manufacture I had not used before.
Its the infill speed that is too fast. Lower it a bit and the problem will clear up. Also raising the nozzle temperature may help.

Re: Top surface uneven
Thanks for the hint towards the infill speed. Lowering that to 50% it looks 'normal'. Never would have come up with this myself. 🙂
Re: Top surface uneven
No probs. I was lucky in that I had a clue. A search of the filament manufacturers website revealed that that they had a max print speed listed.
