Top layer becoming bad

Hi

I have a recurring problem with the top surface on my prints.

Usually using 15-20% infill and 0,1 layer height, 100% speed and PLA plastic on 225 degrees celsius

As you can see i get a visible diamond-pattern and holes in the middle. This one was really bad..

Any tips on how to avoid this?

How many top layers do you use?
The printer profile says 9 layers, have you reduced that number?

Re: Top layer becoming bad

We are using the Prusa profile in the software Simplify 3D, i think its 1-2 layers. Sounds like we should update the profile.

Is 9 layers recommended for all layer heights?

0,3 = ?
0,2 = ?
0,1 = 9 layers?
0,05 = 9 layers?

Re: Top layer becoming bad

Only 2 layers is not found in any profile because it is too small to have a cover layer.
These values are in Slic3r:

Layer = Top - Bottom
0.30 Not available, this layer height is removed.
0.20 = 5 - 4
0.15 = 7 - 5
0.10 = 9 - 7
0.05 = 15 - 10
