The heatbed and “Y” axis carriage only fit together one way.

Looking at the printer from the front, be sure the side of the Y axis carriage with the 2 linear bearings is on your left.

🤬... So after hours i glue the middle think down! It sucks a lot to get them screw in!
And thanks I also change the metal think. I wonder if the printer will work someday...

I dont know how many times i turn and twisted them...

That was a bad move. You may have voided your warranty.

I may incur some wrath but is it possible this poster (PrusaPrinters.. showing as Trusted Member) is some kind of troll or BOT? The issues are truly weird as are the solutions.  Glue the heatbed, seriously??  Can't wait to see how calibration is done, a hammer maybe?? I realize there are people with many varying skill levels in the world but this one is a bit over the top.

I doubt that glue will survive the first time you get the heat bed to heat up.

I understand the concerns for first time builders but if I can do it…….

You do have to be able to read directions and follow them closely.  I go by the adage, read twice and build once.

The Glue was only need to secure the barrel think temporary and now I screw everything in place. That working.

Yes but some are a little confusing. Like when I have to rotate the Frame X times to mount different thinks at some point I do something wrong like mount the Metal think the wrong way. Sorr to say at some point i want have a progress and I rush truth the steps. Yes I know that is not good but from time to time there are to much information.

So every one... https://help.prusa3d.com/en/guide/8-electronics-assembly_174100#174652

I try to screw down the lower screw in and the get stuck mid way?! What happen here? I was happy to get them in with my tools.
So what now? How to get them in flush?

Thanks

Are you using the parts sheet to make sure you’re using the correct size screws? You can hold the screws up to the diagrams to compare size with.

If you have some small soldering iron, you can heat-up the nut while pushing it -just be careful with temperature and don't apply too much force.
If you don't have soldering iron, then preheat the nut with a lighter and insert it.

Start to attach photos of your situation/problem to the posts instead of the manual links. How can anybody evaluate and help this way.

If we are still working on the heat bed attachment to the “Y” carriage there is an interim step that may help.

The Y carriage is powder coated (as is the vertical frame) and some of the powder coating will inevitably end up in the screw holes which can make it challenging to get the screws started while going through the heatbed and spacers. Before assembly it may help to run the screws through the Y carriage to “chase” the threads, which should make it easier to start the screws “blind” during assembly.

I actually used every screw for the bed because sometimes the threads on the screws can be a bit off andneed cleaning up themselves. This method worked well for me at any point I needed to attach to one of the powder coated assemblies. I hope I have described this properly and that it helps with your build. Good luck.

The one "extra" tool that I used that was not supplied with the kit when I built my printer a month ago was to run a M3x.5 tap through all the holes in the frame and Y carriage to clean out the coating material that was in them.  After that all the screws went right in with no problems at all.

Hi @zab:

That is a great suggestion. No doubt a better, faster method than what I described in my post. The fact that you own a M3x.5 tap tells me that you are an experienced individual who likely has many more tools than what was furnished in the kit.

I believe many of the people seeking help with their builds here are of vastly different backgrounds and ages, and that their experience levels in terms of building or fixing things mechanical and/or electrical are just as varied. I wanted to provide a way to approximate your idea with the parts and tools that were included with the kit. But of course, if you have the proper tools, yours is a superior solution.

Thank you for the excellent idea.
