Temperature drop after first layer

Hey guys

I've just discovered I my temperature drop after my first layer. I mean, it drop a lot.
I print with PLA and my first layer is around 210°C, fan off.
The fan start after the first layer and the temperature drops around 200°C and don't rises.

I've read this is normal because extruder need to stabilize for a couple of layerS, but my temperature stay a 200°C for a very long time.

I can see on ma screen 200°C / 210 °C, I've checked the GCODE and there is nothing about this.

So I come back times to times to check the print and then it rises up again. I've tried different print, still the same. I didn't find any correlation between all prints.

I use Simplify3D as slicer.

Does someone have any idea what cause my temperature drop ?

Re: Temperature drop after first layer

Are you sure you don't have Simplify set to a lower temperature after the first layer? Double-check that.

Normal temperature setting for PLA first and other layers.

You might "Add setpoint", but forgot to change the default value?

Thanks for your posts guys.

As you can see below, I've already add a set point for my second layer.

I've enven ckecked the GCODE just in case.

If there was something to do with my slicer or GCODE, I should see 200°C as a target on my LCD screen, like "200 / 200" but I actually see "200 / 210".

Even when I tune it, like I change the extruder temperature to 215°C , still "200/215"

You might want to do a PID calibration to see if it helps?

I did it yesterday, and it solved the problem !

I don't know why it suddenly didn't work, but I suppose this is somthing I have to do sometimes.

Thanks !

Has anyone had this problem but NOT solve it with a PID calibration? I have this problem show up and cause the extruder to start skipping as soon as the blower fan turns on. If I use the tune menu to turn the fan off then temperatures go back to normal. Tried the PID calibration option but it didn't help.

What slicer do you use ? Does your lcd screen show the right temperature as target ?

Re: Temperature drop after first layer

I haven't tried slicing my own models for this printer yet. This happens with the included "Batman" gcode, which lowers the target temperature from 215 to 210, but actual temperature drops to 200 at that point.

Re: Temperature drop after first layer

S3D Drops the temp for the second layer and also turns the fan from 0% -> 100% for the second layer. That's why the temp drops so low a little while but recovers after.

RE: Temperature drop after first layer
hi, i have a problem with my mk3s, i print pla at 215 ° but when you turn on the fan in the second layer
the hotend temperature drops to 200 ° and it takes time to rise again. once the temperature reaches 215 °,
the PID does not stabilize it and always ranges between 210 -219.
I already tried calibrating the pid but still with the same problem! I need help, I work with the printer
