Surface problems after reassembling the Extruder
Hello,
i got my, already assembled 3D Printer last Week. The Printer was working fine. I was able to printed among other things the Treefrog with the print duration of 1h30m. This surface was realy fine (right Frog)!
I was testing with some other 3D Models and slicer configurations. Unfortunately the Extruder got clogged. I had no needle at home so i disassembled the Extruder and cleaned it. After i reassembled the Extruder and tried to print the Frog again, i got this uneven surface (left Frog). I am was not able to find the problem.
It is also a bit weird that this failure accures only on the bottom and on the Front, but not on the top/left/right side of the frog.
Maybe someone had a similar issue or an idea where the failure is from ?
Thanks four your help in advanced!
Best Regards,
Thomas
Re: Surface problems after reassembling the Extruder
You may want to do a COLD PULL to help clean any debris from the nozzle. And if you accidentally forced something into the nozzle that damaged the soft brass, it might have an effect that causes issues like you are seeing (a burr on the front of the nozzle orifice may only affect the front of a model).
Also assuming you are printing the same model gcode from the samples.
Re: Surface problems after reassembling the Extruder
Yes, you assumed right i used the same gcode file.
Today i will try to clean the nozzle through a Cold Pull. I hope it will help.
I am also hoping i didnt damaged the soft brass. But it fit to the problem description.
Thanks for your help!
Re: Surface problems after reassembling the Extruder
I have done several Cold Pulls, with several calibration durations. Nothing changed. Also the first Layer Calibration didn't worked.
I disassemble the nozzle again and had a closer look at the nozzle. I do not how i have done this, but i damaged the front of the Extruder 😕 I pretty sure that this is the reason why the failure accures. For now i have to wait until my new nozzle arrives.
Thanks for the help!
