Some questions about getting the first few layers to be better

Hi guys, I got a mk3s+ a couple weeks ago and love it. The prints are coming out great, but I think they could be improved just a little. Particularly the first layer and the first solid infill layers.

My first layer looks like this. It starts off bonded well, but as the strokes get longer, they don’t stick well to each other.

A couple layers later, the solid infill layer looks like this. the parts close to the perimeter looks like it isn’t extruding enough.

A couple more pictures of my first layer. it’s strange to me that the bottom looks great, but the strokes get longer, the layers don’t adhere as well.

bonus picture of another issue to help me troubleshoot.

a weird gap shows up when I print what’s basically an open top box.

thanks for the help! I really appreciate it.
