[SOLVED] not extruding anything
I finished assembling the printer. The self-tests were all passed, except that it didn't print/extrude anything. Somehow it is oblivious to this. I'm using the grey PLA that came with the kit. I gave it a sharp point. I turned on the autoloader.
1. It does grasp the filament when it asks me to insert it.
2. I can see that the extruder gears are moving, but it doen't pull the filament beyond the initial grab. 😯
3. According to the control panel, it is pre-heated.
I *am* able to eject (unload) the filament, and I've tried several times now to load it. The control lpanel asks me if it succeeded in extruding something. If I answer no, the extruder gears start turning again, but again nothing further gets pulled and nothing comes out.
What to do? Please advise.

😯
I... have... No... Idea.
Actually I have a few.
They just might not be good ideas. 😈
How far does the "teeth" go up the filament.
This will tell us where the filament is jamming. It sounds like it is jamming ABOVE the nozzle. (Cause ya know... hot nozzle, melty melty plastic. Melty plastic no jammy jammy!)
Hi, I'm Sean. I used to work on CNC machines.
I try to not make mistakes, but the decision is YOURS.
Please feel free to donate to my filament/maintance fund.
Re: FAIL: not extruding anything
SOLVED: It was enough to tighten the two spring loaded screws a bit on the extruder idler. Now it extrudes. 🙂
