So frustrating!

I am having constant problems with prints slipping on the bed at almost any point in the print. I meticulously clean the bed with alcohol before each print, I reduce the speed to 60 or 70%, I watch the first layer for 5 or 10 minutes, I've tried increasing the bed temperature to 65 (pla) and I've live adjusted the nozzle height. What else can I do? Incidentally the same models print fine on my old ender!

Powder coated or Smooth PEI?

And as most experienced users have found: washing the sheets in soap and hot water is required to prevent adhesion issues while printing.

I made couple really bad experience with some cheap PLA filament brands.

What you can do in addition is to bump up the nozzle temp for the first layer. (even to 230-240C for PLA if needed). Use glue stick or ABS slurry .

It's smooth pei. Thank you both for these suggestions.

If you need to use glustik for PLA, if proves the bed is contaminated.  PLA sticks to PEI better than glustik.

Not every PLA. I had cases where one brand was sticking perfectly fine, the other one don't even want to stay on it. Same spot, same sheet used.

For me it's easier to apply glue stick, bump up the nozzle temp instead of washing and rubbing the sheet all the time. But everyone has a different approach.

I've had one spool of PLA that was that way - but it proved to be not the filament but handling when packed.  Once the initial layer of handled filament was gone, the filament became the good old PLA I know and love.  I suspect that whoever picked the spool and placed it into the plastic bag had just applied hand lotion and wasn't careful where they grabbed the spool and left a massive amount of hand lotion to soak into the outer layer.

In a hundred spools of PLA, I have not had two like that.  Every other time PLA didn't stick, I can trace it to my own finger prints.
