Should i be worried?
hi, i noticed that the side opposite the left fan looks to be melting
Re: Should i be worried?
Mine's doing this too. I'm not overly concerned unless it starts interfering with the print or holding capability of the hot end.
A silicone sock may help reduce radiant heat from the heat block.
Also... you should dust off your heatsink and whatnot... 😯
Re: Should i be worried?
That's the reason why I printed mine in PC.

Looks like you haven't upgraded to the latest pre-MK3s parts (R3/B7)? Wasn't heat one of the issues that design was supposed to help with?

Those are MK3s parts (R4)
Re: Should i be worried?
I have been printing for a week after upgrade and have the same issue.

I've suggested an interlocking tab that connects to the Pinda clamp in Github. Hopefully they'll adopt it or something similar soon. When I first noticed mine melting I just snipped off that "tongue". It's a combination of an unsupported, and very thin end, close to the heater.

PC just seems like a nuisance to print with also it makes poisons fumes, do you keep your printer in a ventilated box or something?
in any case I'm just gonna print a full set of spares for my printer in case anything breaks

I heard that and one day I went for Polymaker PC-MAX. I was surprised how easy it printed. Nylon is much harder to print.
Enclosed box is a must because any cold air might ruin your print. Check this out:

I print with eSun and their PC is easy to print with, once you have dialed in the correct settings. As for fumes, not noticed any, but I do feel strange 😆

From Amazon. But it's actually doesn't matter where you buy it.
Regarding toxic fumes: I think it highly depends how much you want to print. I've printed two extruder sets for my two printers and MMU2 roll. It's a one time thing and the room is ventilated. I'm getting more toxic fumes at the motor show then that :-).
If you want to print 24/7 every day in PC at home then I would install more professional filter/ventilation system.
