Screeching sound while priting

Hi, my 5th print overall with my new Mk3S. Every print so far that finished had a fantastic quality, yet during the print, after about 15-30 minutes a terrible screeching sound started to develop from the extruder part (somewhere there). Attached file is a recording of it. Feels like plastic on plastic, but I don't have much experience. Yet, I am now in my 5th hour of printing (my longest yet) and everything prints fine despite the sound. Any ideas what this might be and how to get rid of it? It was present in every print since the start.

I'm having the same issue. Any luck in finding a solution. I'm kind of afraid that I will tear something up by continuing to print.

Some common causes:

a) PTFE tube is grinding against the bondtech gears

b) Bondtech in idler door has had its shaft come out one side and is now rubbing on plastic.

c) Slightly oversize filament squeaking as it passes through the various parts. Most likely if you're printing PETG and it's rubbing on PETG.

Thanks for the quick response:

a: not using the PTFE tube (don't remember anywhere that said to use it, Of course I could have missed it. I'll double check)

b: Checked the gear and it's fine. I even put a drop of light machine oil on each end where it touches the plastic.

c: Using the PLA that came with the printer.

Hot end with a PTFE tube in it comes preassembled with your MK3S kit. You have one...

Open the door in the side of the extruder and look (remove the tension screw first. Remember how many threads stick out).

My money is on the tube working up out of the hot end and hitting the filament gear. Cold pull maybe?

You need to check the shaft in the door and not just the gear. Make sure both ends are secure.

Check the idler screw from the bondtech gears. As soon it catches the filament the tension is alright. For me the screw and the nut are even. Maybe that helps.

Best regards
