Room for improvement

not with the printer kit. On the contrary, the longer I'm building, the more I appreciate the solutions the Prusa devs have come up with (and the more of the Thingiverse upgrades I preliminarily collected I assign, if not to my mental wastebin, then at least to the "do it later" stack).
Also not with the online instructions. There were one or two situations where some parts popped up that weren't introduced before, but nothing that couldn't be solved by actually looking at the bags the stuff came in.
A big compliment to both the devs and the compilers of the manual, then.
But look at this:
The bag on the left is the one that came with the printer - opened as per instructions, and some bears eaten. The one on the right I just bought at the local drugstore. That should hopefully suffice now to get me to the first print. Prusa, you're starving your customers.
P.S.: The platform under the printer, where I'm building on and later hope to be printing on is a 40x40 cm (chinese) granite outdoor floor tile from the local diy store. The front is rough, sandblasted, but the rear is smooth from the saw and, as far as I can tell, pretty much flat. Smoother and flatter than a concrete paver, although also almost twice as expensive 😀 .

Yes, you can't ever have too many Gold Bears around. I would actually appreciate if I could get some Katjes instead, as they are really hard to get here in the US.
Anyhow, adding a serious touch to this. I just ordered my MK3 and it is on backorder (powdercoat wanted). But I have been printing for a few years with an A8 clone and was wondering how much of an improvement a concrete paver or a granite slab would actually be.
Could you share your experiences on that in more detail?

I really wsh they sold the the good German gummy bears here in the US. We only get the ones made in Turkey.

Sorry, can't help you with details about the improvement through the granite slab. This is my first experience with 3d printing, and at the moment, everything that comes out of the printer is simply amazing. Well, except for the stuff I printed with some cheap chinese 3d-pen-filament, that stuff draws strings like a cheese fondue.
But I have nothing I could base a comparison on. And when I'm looking at my Benchy, I at least can't see any differences to other people's Benchys - but I also probably don't know yet what I should be looking for.

No problem, I will experiment with that myself once the MK3 is assembled, calibrated and tested.
I definitely expect great results from it. I know what the machine is capable of since I've seen the results printed by my son. Not that the A8 clone is bad. After a decent amount of tinkering I was able to print working M4 fasteners in PLA with it. Very curious if the MK3 lets me print as small as M3 fasteners.
