PTFE Tube on Hotend Assembly too long?
I was working on my MK3s upgrade when I tried installing my brand-new hotend assembly. My old one became terribly jammed until just recently I borrowed a friend's heatgun and cleared it. Because the old one was somewhat defective, I opted to use a new one. Sliding it into place during assembly, though, I noticed that the PTFE tube was way too long and gets in the way of the Bondtech gears. I am a university student with very limited access to tools that I could use to trim the tube down. I obviously don't need another destroyed hotend assembly. What should I do?

Well how silly of me! I figured out that if I unscrew the heat block, I can push it in a bit deeper. Problem solved!

seems the university is paying off... sorry.. glad you figured it out. did you put a clip on the top to hold it in?

Check the length. It should be 45mm. If it is 50 you have an R3 or earlier PTFE tube and need to cut it down.
I hope you don't mean you unscrewed the heatsink by 5mm to make it fit; that'll give you no end of problems.

Nope. I was able to tighten it again after screwing it back.

How far past the hot end collet should the PTFE tube extend?
