Now I'm being accused of being uncouth. (lacking in good manners)

Because I reject that assertion, please highlight the part of my post where I have lacked good manners and I will attempt to address it.

And sorry, but it would not be prudent to hand over my address to someone who is questioning my character in a post with a negative tone.
Doing so could result in me finding something undesirable in my mail.

Here is an observation all readers should have made...

No-one is showing any concern about the established member, the star trek fan, who is getting his jollies from making disparaging remarks about new users. (me)

Am I allowed to make similar comments about other users with impunity?

Is there one rule for established members and another for new members?
(I think there is a word for an organization like that)

My other observation is the lack of interest about the non-performing printed part in the video, and a way forward. I thought that was the whole reason for the existence of the forum.

I expected helpful comments instead of being attacked by established members with status names like "Eminent" and "Illustrious".

Very disappointing experience. No real help here.

New users take note.
Expect to be dumped on in a similar way if these people take a dislike to you.

You have refused printing help from members of the community and cast doubt as to whether you think their print quality is up to your standards (though surely good enough to print a replacement part with, no?). What exactly do you hope to accomplish here? I don't think they're giving out awards for winning the Internet over the holidays.

If you want to start another thread with an accurate subject line describing your print quality issues and attach your part and settings saved in a zipped 3MF project file, you may find answers to your question regarding part print quality. I suspect part orientation is part of the problem, but it's hard to tell from the picture you linked to.

This thread is clogged with derogatory content posts from senior members who should know better, as well as my defensive responses to those posts.

Not once did either of those senior members take me up on the suggestion that they highlight the part of my posts they were objecting to. Instead they continued to make more negative posts. So I have to assume they were just after jollies.

The thread is now next to useless to users who have a genuine interest in the topic.

I am left to wonder whether that was the intent of those senior members. I dare say I will never know.

I have never been a forum moderator. But from my experience posting in other forums, I have a constructive suggestion which would prevent any user from hijacking a thread with derogatory posts. Such posts make it difficult for readers to isolate content actually related to the thread topic.

Make it a well-known forum rule that if any post contains derogatory content, the whole post will be removed.

For a start it would be far less work for you than editing words.

I have seen this in action on other forums and it seems to work, making the threads far more useful to all readers.

Even senior members soon tire of making derogatory posts as they know their whole post is going to be taken down.

I think implementing such a rule would improve the quality of this forum.

Any further posts from me on this thread are now pointless. So I am tuning out and don’t expect to return.

That will probably make those senior members happy, left to enjoy using the forum as their personal playground, toying with new members.

New users don’t stand a chance as it is.

Many new users benefit from help on this forum. 

Some people do not find the forum to their liking. 

this is a constantly evolving environement. 

when I need to ask a user to moderate their posts I do so using private messages as it's more polite 

some times I do wish I could turn off commenting, but that's not available at My Pay Grade... 🙁

I hope your spare part arrives soon, and you are able to enjoy your prusa experience in the future!

Hello everyone. I stumbled across this thread and I just wanted to share my experience as a newbie, having just bought a MK3S+ kit from Prusa and having just assembled it. My experience is that the whole experience was an absolute blast and a joy. Really! The Prusa Assembly Manual is a credit to them. I managed to build a 3D printer for the first time ever in my life, and it works like a precision instrument. I took my time, paid attention to detail, read accompanying comments & tips from other users in the Assembly Manual. All the parts where in the Kit as promised, and then a bag of spares just in case! That's not normal. Thanks Prusa. Everything fitted like a glove. No gluing, drilling, modifications necessary - just had to do what the book said (including tips for 'pulling in' nuts, amount of force etc). Now I am learning the ins and outs of PrusaSlicer, and here again, I am simply amazed by the quality in design and implementation. Big shout out too to the more experienced people on these forums. Reading their advice and online articles have helped me come a long way in a short space of time. Thank you.

So that is my (Australian) experience. For any new users or anyone contemplating a Prusa machine, I definitely say go for it. The quality is absolutely there. Have a nice day!
