Prints coming up and getting XY axis failure
Needs some help, I have been running smoothly until a day or two, when I couldn't get my printer to pass Z calibration, it would fail on one area, so I redid the XYZ calibration. After that I was good for one print, but now when trying to print this project it is not laying smooth and as you can see on the left end it has come up and then fails for XY Axis. Which I assume is the head hitting the filliment that was sticking up, I am glad that it stops the print so that I don't waste filliment, so that is a good thing.
My question is, why am I having these failures? It looks like the bed is overheating the project, I am using PLA and have it on the standard settings. Is my nozzle too close or too far away?
Thoughts/help?
Thanks
John
RE: Prints coming up and getting XY axis failure
This looks like the nozzle is doing the first layer too close to the bed; that would cause too much filament to be squished into a skinny layer, causing blobs to occur. Try raising your nozzle a bit in first layer calibration, and also make sure the nozzle doesn't have any filament remains stuck to it.
RE: Prints coming up and getting XY axis failure
Avinash,
Thanks, I reran the 1st level calibration and adjusted the mesh bed. Below are 2 prints that I did, that turned out pretty good, in my opinion. I think my problem is the filiment. See the pictures below, the purple filiment is pealing up, so I changed it out to a different color and it is laying down flat. Does anyone know why the purple will not stay flat? It is a new roll, I just opened it last night.
Thanks John
