Printing question - troubleshooting

My machine is a newly assembled kit. All calibrations went good, alignment came in as perpendicular and self tests all went well. Ran test prints and they went fine. I printed a coffee cup I drew up in fusion and I sliced it with Prusa control. The print didn't fail but seemed odd when it was printing the bottom part of the cup. First layer looked good, then it layed down 4 more layers then started the infill. After a couple layers of infill it sounded like the nozzle was actually rubbing on the cross hatching as it continued to generate the infill. Is this a slicing issue or a setup issue? Help would be greatly appreciated.

Difficult to say.

Did you enable z hop?.

Do you think you might have a little bit of over extrusion?

Lack of zhop will cause the nozzle to rub across the surface below on movements.

Over extrusion can sometimes cause noise which is generally worst on the top layers.

Otherwise anyones guess.

No, I don't think its a Z hop issue. I did check my extruder calibration and when I told it to extrude 100mm it extruded 122mm. So I think it was an over extrusion problem. I'm going to cal the extruder and see if that fixes it.

Well it wasn't an over extrusion problem, it still does it. I calibrated the extruder and it's pretty close to perfect. But when I print something with a large expanse of infill it sounds like the nozzle is hitting the infill as its printing. I tried adjusting the live z but it don't think that's the problem and it didn't make any difference when I did. Maybe print speed? It's set at 200mm/s, should I drop it down?
Thanks in advance for your help...........

Re: Printing question - troubleshooting

I reduced speed to 150 mm/s and it printed fine. So I guess it was a speed issue. Does anyone else print infill at 200 mm/s? That's the default speed in Slic3r for both PLA and PET..........
