Printer Won't Start a Print

I tried to start my first print but when I choose a file and start printing it will ask me to unload the filament and reload it, and then it will just continue to get me to unload and reload the filament. Is there any way to make it stop doing this and start the print?

Hi @parker-02

Is this your FIRST print at all?

Have you started the print with empty extruder? If so the routine is unload filament, load filament with steps of confirmations of activities.

Did the filament load succeeded? Please try to describe your issue in more detailed way, any detail can help to identify you problem cause.

Try the following from the printer console:

Switch of your filament sensor via : Settings->Fil.sensor (off)

Load he filament to the extruder via command : Load filament

Start printing - if it starts ,then you have issue with filament sensor.

Check the cabling - whether you Filament sensor cable is in correct plug position and correctly oriented (both counts - read again carefully the assembly manual especially the filament sensor connection)

BE AWARE when you have the Filament sensor switched off ,all functions requiring input from the sensor will work as the filament would be always LOADED.

Your filament sensor may be incorrectly mounted.
Make sure the magnet is turned in the right direction and that the FS liver can move easily.
Also, make sure the sensor cable is properly installed.

Sensor flag has a tendency to "stick". I had a similar problem, which was fixed just by removing the sensor (from the top), looking at it, putting it back, and poking at it a couple of times. Has not failed since.

I should have taken more time smoothing the flag and housing - but if it works - it works.

@zoltan-l

I switched off my filament sensor and loaded the filament manually and now it's printing just fine. Thanks for the help, I'll just have to see what's wrong with the sensor now
