Printer Won’t Finish CalibratIon
Just unpacked my new pre assembled printer i3 mk3s. We went through the calibration step (three times now) it keeps catching on the paper just enough to drag the paper around even with me holding it on the first of four tests. This came assembled with a test print on the bed and I am not clear how to fix this as I didn’t assemble it. And it worked at the factory as there was a print on the bed
The Test slip that came in the box showed pass on all tests. I tested the pinda sensor with the metal scraper to make sure it changed from 0 to 1 and it did. Other posts talk about adjusting the height (Z) but I can do any of those as, per the printer, it needs to complete the initial calibration.
I apologize if I missed the post that explains how to fix this. I watched the user guide viseo and Prusa says he’ll talk about troubleshooting issues in another video but couldn’t find that video.
Any guidance here?

See if there is anything under the build sheet, like a piece of filament, etc., and make sure it is properly positioned. Just a guess...sure others will have more input....

I would check the height before loosening the screw, though.
Is your printer grinding? Bearings squeaking? Motors smoking?

Thanks for the ideas. No on all of these - printer grinding? Bearings squeaking? Motors smoking? It literally came out of the shipping box today. If any of that was happening I would be looking to return...
As for washing the sheet. I did give it an alcohol wipe. To be clear all the tests pass. When it comes to using the piece of paper the mechanism comes down to the plate, moves around a small bit in the first corner for about 15-20 seconds not touching the paper and then it suddenly finds a spot it likes, stops for a few seconds and then the paper becomes trapped under the print nozzle and is snug. I can't pull the paper out, nor does it freely move on the plate. It leaves really faint marks on the paper but no tears, not marks on the plate. The paper is pinned down and moves around with the plate, not free, which is not what happens in the tutorial video.

Paper isn't a standard width or universal measurement, so there is a chance yours is a hair thicker.......or something moved a tiny bit in shipping. If it was me, and I made it through everything ok.....and only had some resistance on the paper....no actual tears, sheet damage, or a completely trapped sheet....I would probably continue thru the calibration to complete it. However, if you want to be precise, follow the above link and the steps exactly.

It is not good if the nozzle scrapes against the bed during calibration.
You can fix it by loosening the screw to the PINDA slightly.
Then gently turn the PINDA clockwise 1/4 turn (seen from above).
Now you have lowered PINDA approx. 0.25 mm and the nozzle is raised from the bed equally.
Lock PINDA again and then you should be able to do your calibration without problems.
Bear MK3 with Bondtech extruder
